International Spa Association Snapshot Survey
The newly released International SPA Association 2010 U.S. Spa Industry Study and the monthly ISPA member Snapshot Surveys provide a wide range of insights, which ISPA has utilized to pinpoint key trends in the industry. "We're seeing the spa industry strategically adapt to the changes brought on by the economy. One thing is certain - spas have remained authentic to the core of their business which is health and wellness," said ISPA President Lynne McNees. Through industry research ISPA has identified seven key indicators that have effectively managed the change within the industry. - 30 April 2011

2010 International SPA Association Trend Watch
ISPA has identified the top 10 trends for 2010 in the International Spa World, making it simple for us to stay up-to-date, although one can easily see that for 2010 in South Africa, our 1st trend, will be the World Cup 2010, as many spas introduce changes to their spa menus, introduce new packages geared at the international visitor or introduce new specialist massages for sports people, such as the Aquazen Massage from Camelot Spa. “This year it's tough to keep up with the latest trends when everything from vampires to Snuggies is on the cultural radar, but forecasts for the coming year prove once again one thing - a healthy lifestyle never goes out of style.” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. - 19 January 2010
The South African Spa Association Year End 2009 Report
Here are a few benchmarks of our achievements for 2009. Membership: The Association started 2009 with 25 members and we are very proud to have 104 members to date. Website: The site launched in February 2009 with 10 000 hits in the first month, and is now receiving just on 100 000 hits per month. Networking events: The Association hosted 3 networking events in each JHB, Cape Town and Durban this year, which have been most successful. As we believe networking and collaboration between members is essential to progress in the industry and unification, we encourage these events and all events which members feel will benefit their business. - 30 November 2009
South Africa's 2nd Spa Benchmark Report
Intelligent Spas' second Spa Benchmark Report on the South African spa market presents an extensive collection of financial statistics including breakdowns of key performance indicators by day spas, hotel spas and resort spas. The new research found over 200 spas are operating in South Africa and generated revenue of ZAR380 million (approximately USD47 million) in 2008, representing a 2% decrease compared to 2007. - 16 October 2009
SA Spa Association creates an innovative Spa Pavilion at the Look & Feel Good Expo
The Spa Pavilion provides an opportunity to showcase SA Best Spas, through representation by the SA Spa Association, together with individual spas and spa companies representing themselves, and combined with a demonstration platform to educate consumers on the value of spa therapies, so creating a dynamic, interactive focused spa area. - 28 September 2009
