A first in South Africa , Angsana Spa is harmoniously placed alongside the new spacious and calm river deluxe suites, all overlooking the crystal clear Liesbeeck river running through the historic gardens of the Vineyard Hotel & Spa - “the first English country house in South Africa where Lady Anne Barnard nurtured her spirit in tranquility.”

Angsana Spa takes its name from the exotic Angsana Tree, noted for its crown of golden fragrant flowers that burst into bloom unexpectedly for just one day. Its philosophy is to seize life spontaneously, to sense the moment and savour time as it passes inexorably. Angsana Spa is owned by Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts. The lifestyle-oriented spa offers spa products and accessories, traditional handicrafts, resort style home furnishings and unique gifts, keeping alive village craft skill and gainful employment for the communities. The first Angsana Spa was founded in 1998 and since then, the group has branched out to include establishments in Australia, Maldives, Indonesia, India, Thailand and Taiwan.
Angsana Spa retreats are designed to be sanctuaries for the inner self, to refresh and rejuvenate your spirit as well as your physical being.

Privacy and tranquility allow you to shed the cares of the world while we pamper your body, as well as your mind, with our invigorating treatments. Better still, experience the Angsana Spa with a loved one and rediscover essential sensory pleasures - from the pleasure of touch to the aroma of exotic oils like rosemary, lavender, jasmine and frangipani wafting the air. Feel your muscles being kneaded and the tension seep away from your body as you drift off to soothing music and enter a realm of blissful happiness and total relaxation.”

living green: environmental & social

The Petousis family’s love of nature is obvious to all who visit the Vineyard Hotel & Spa and see the glorious gardens they have established and the great effort they have taken to include the natural elements indoors. The tall gracious trees growing inside the Square restaurant, the tinkling waterfalls, the huge expanse of glass windows in our Restaurant, Garden Lounge and both conference and health centers all pay tribute to this. As children, the young Petousis’ often accompanied their father on his weekend hikes up Table Mountain and today they still spend as much time outdoors as they can. Once a month they form part of a vineyard team who battle under the African sun ,removing alien vegetation from an area the Vineyard Hotel & Spa have committed to looking after, just over 8 hectares in Silvermine, part of the Table Mountain Nature Reserve.

Following in their fathers footsteps they too feel a need to make a contribution to their community and have embarked on many projects as part of their commitment to making a difference. The Vineyard Hotel & Spa, through its rigorous social development programme won the 2006 Imvelo Award for 'Best Economic Impact' and was a finalist in the category 'Best Social Responsibility Programme' in 2006.

Conservation is taken very seriously by the Vineyard Hotel & Spa. Education of all the staff, introducing energy saving devices, water conservation and cleaner production are some of the many ways that the Vineyard Hotel & Spa is making its contribution towards a cleaner, safer and more sustainable planet.

 social commitments

In all the rooms at the Vineyard Hotel & Spa we offer an invitation to our guests to participate in our “kids of the cape fund”. This is just one of the ways they strive to make a difference to our community.

 environmental initiatives

The management of the hotel are extremely committed to the environment and encourage each department to participate in environmental projects.
